Home Affairs Adviser Lieutenant General (Retd) Md Jahangir Alam Chowdhury stated that although corruption has significantly reduced in the six months of the interim government, it is still not at a tolerable level. "All problems will be solved only when corruption is reduced," he remarked.

He made these comments while speaking to reporters after the 30th founding anniversary programme of the Bangladesh Coast Guard in Agargaon, the capital, on Monday.

The Home Adviser said that if there is chaos in the name of a mob, the law enforcement agencies will take action against them. "We have to see what a mob does for. However, only if corruption can be reduced, it will be possible to improve all sectors."

He further noted that it had not been possible to bring the police under the law in the last 53 years, but the interim government had achieved this.
