A student was killed in a road accident in Kushtia’s Daulatpur upazila on Monday.
The accident took place at Modhurapur area in the upazila around 12:00 PM.
The deceased, Shakib Mondol, 12, son of Akib Mondal, a resident of Salimpur village in the upazila, is fifth grader of Salimpur Model School.
Confiming the matter, Daulatpur Police Station officer-in-charge Nazmul Huda said that a speedy trolley, coming from the opposite direction, hit Shakib when he was going to betel leaf orchard, leaving him dead on the spot.
Being informed, a team of police recovered the body from the spot and sent it to Kushtia General Hosptial morgue for a post-mortem examination.
The process of lodging a case with the police station was underway, the OC added.
