2 including woman held with Yaba pills in Cox’s Bazar

Armed Police arrested two individuals including a woman with Yaba pills and ammunition from the Ukhiya Rohingya Camp in Cox’s Bazar on Sunday night.

The arrested were identified as Asma Akter, 20, wife of Jamal and his brother-in-law Selim, 23, son of Abu Bakkar.

Confirming the matter, 14-Armed Police Battalion Assistant Captain (Police Super) Sudipta Roy said that a joint team of Armed Police and Department of Narcotics Control, acting on a tip off, conducted a drive at no-9 Rohingya Camp and arrested the duo around 9:00 PM.

Police also recovered 20,000 pieces of Yaba pills and 10 rounds of cartridges from their possessions.

The arrested gave a confessional statement to the law enforcers, he said, adding that they were handed over to Ukhiya Thana.
