Elderly man hacked to death in Kushtia

An elderly man was allegedly hacked to death by miscreants in Kushtia's Sadar upazila on Monday.

The victim has been identified as Atiyar Khan, 65, a resident of Shyampur Durbachar village of Ujangram union of the upazila.
On Monday (February 17) morning, locals saw the bloody body lying in a field at Jotpara village under Kanchanpur Union of the upazila and informed police.

Kanchanpur UP Chairman Anisur Rahman Jhantu confirmed this information and said that locals spotted Atiyar's blood-stained body lying on the ground in the morning. There were sharp weapon injuries on various parts of his body. However, it was not known who committed the incident.

Kushtia Police Superintendent Mizanur Rahman, who visited the scene this morning, said that it is initially believed that the murder was committed due to a previous enmity.
