BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman has reaffirmed his party’s commitment to rebuilding the country by implementing its 31-point charter, which he claims will reverse the damage caused by the Awami League's prolonged rule.

Speaking virtually from London at the biennial conference of BNP’s Narail district unit, Tarique stated, "The real response to 16 years of oppression by the Awami League is the successful implementation of our 31-point plan." The event took place at Narail Government High School ground.
He emphasized that BNP has a strong chance in the next election but urged party members to begin working on public welfare immediately. "We must prepare ourselves, shift our mindset, and work together to bring about positive change," he said.

If voted into power, BNP will gradually implement the 31-point charter as an ongoing process, refining it over time to restore democracy, economic stability, and social justice, Tarique added.

Criticizing the current government, he accused the Awami League of dismantling the country’s democratic institutions, crippling the economy, and undermining the education system. He also alleged that the ruling party suppressed opposition leaders through arrests, enforced disappearances, and false cases.

Tarique further claimed that “Sheikh Hasina deprived the people of their voting rights, and a mass movement has now forced her out of power.”

Reiterating BNP’s historical role in establishing multi-party democracy, he praised the contributions of party founder Ziaur Rahman and former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia. He credited BNP’s past governments with enhancing press freedom, boosting women's education, and expanding industrialization and employment opportunities.

He also addressed attempts to tarnish BNP’s reputation, stating, "Despite efforts to spread propaganda against us, we will counter these politically." He called on party leaders to remain united and work toward restoring democracy and people’s rights.

The conference was inaugurated by BNP Chairperson’s Adviser Aman Ullah Aman, with Narail District BNP President Biswas Jahangir Alam presiding over the event. Several party leaders, including BNP Khulna Divisional Organizing Secretary Anindya Islam Amit and Assistant Organizing Secretary Jayanta Kundu, spoke at the program.

The event featured the hoisting of national and party flags, along with the release of pigeons and balloons as symbols of BNP’s commitment to democracy and national progress.
