Subsequently, on Sunday morning (16 February), the authorities announced the factory closure till February 22 in face of the workers when they were joining their work.
The workers became enraged and started demanding immediate payment of their unpaid salaries and the reopening of the factory.

Tariqul Islam, the factory’s marketing and merchandising director, said that the company had regularly paid wages in the past. But, they have been facing financial circumstances due to the current economic situation and difficulties to access banking services following the government's fall.

"We are doing everything possible and will ensure that the wages are paid soon," he added.
