The United States (US) has sent back a second batch of illegal Indian immigrants aboard its military aircraft On Saturday night
A US C-17 plane carrying 116 Indians landed at Amritsar Airport in Punjab on Feb 15.
Earlier, US had sent back 104 individuals on February 5. At that time, their hands and feet were shackled, which led to widespread criticism in India.
Shortly after that, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi met with U.S. President Donald Trump, during which Modi called for ''humane treatment'' of Indians.
However, despite this meeting, US again sent back Indian immigrants with their hands bound and feet shackled.
Among the 116 sent back on Saturday, a young man named Daljit Singh reported that during the flight from US to Amritsar, their hands were tied and they were shackled at the feet.
Ahead of the second round of deportations, Congress leader P. Chidambaram posted on social media. He wrote, ''The US flight returning illegal immigrants to Amritsar will land with all eyes on it. Will their hands and feet be tied with ropes? This will be a test for Indian diplomacy.''
