BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi has urged the government to hold national elections without delay, claiming it is necessary to prevent what he described as a "dangerous plan" by Sheikh Hasina.

“Sheikh Hasina is plotting something dangerous. The national election must take place soon to counter this conspiracy,” Rizvi stated on Sunday after paying tribute to BNP founder Ziaur Rahman at his grave, accompanied by party leaders and activists from various districts.
He accused the Yunus-led government of stalling the election process, asserting that the nation is eagerly awaiting a fair, free, and impartial election.

Rizvi also criticized demands for local government elections before the national polls, labeling them as a politically motivated move. He emphasized that a final deadline must be set for the election to restore democracy, for which many lives have been sacrificed.

Additionally, he stressed the urgency of implementing necessary reforms before the election to ensure a transparent and credible voting process.
