Man killed in Sirajganj road accident

A man was killed in a road accident in Sirajganj’s Shahjadpur upazila on Sunday noon.

The accident took place on Bogura-Nagarbari Highway at Talgachi area in the upazila.
The deceased was identified as Yusuf Ali, 30, son of Abdur Razzaque, a resident of Ullapara village in the upazila.

According to locals, an oil laden speedy tank lorry collided head-on with a battery-run-auto-rickshaw, locally known as Nasimon, leaving the Nasimon driver Yusuf dead on the spot.

Confirming the matter, Shahjadpur Police Station officer-in-charge Aslam Ali said that police seized the tank lorry but its driver and his associate managed to flee the scene.

Police were looking into the matter, the OC added.
