The stock markets in Dhaka and Chattogram began the week with a positive trend, continuing the upward momentum from last week.
During the first hour of trading on Sunday, key indices showed gains on both exchanges.
At the start of trading on the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), the DSEX benchmark index rose by 5 points. Other indices also saw gains, with the Shariah-based DSES index experiencing a slight increase, while the blue-chip DS30 index climbed by 3 points.
Most company shares saw price increases, with 169 companies recording gains, 87 experiencing declines, and 83 remaining unchanged.
In the first 30 minutes of trading, total turnover on the DSE surpassed Tk 50 crore.
Similarly, the Chattogram Stock Exchange (CSE) saw its overall index rise by 10 points. Among the traded companies, 22 recorded price gains, 7 faced declines, and 6 remained steady.
Within the initial half-hour, the CSE's total turnover exceeded Tk 30 lakh.
