Chandpur AL leader arrested at Dhaka airport

Chandpur's Shahrasti Municipality Awami League President Ahsan Manjurul Islam Jewel, 45, was arrested by Immigration Police from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport.

Shahrasti Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mohammad Abul Basar confirmed this information on Saturday (February 15) afternoon.
Police said he is accused of provocative activities against the anti-discrimination student-public movement.

Shahrasti Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abul Bashar said, "Arrested Jewel has taken a stand against the student-public movement against discrimination and carried out provocative activities. There is a case against him. Legal action will be taken against him."
