The holy Shab-e-Barat, the night of fortune and forgiveness, was observed across the country with due religious fervor and devotion on Friday night.
Shab-e-Barat is observed on the 15th night of the Arabic month of Sha'ban. Shab-e-Barat is regarded as a significant occasion during which Muslims pray to Allah and beg for forgiveness for their transgressions.
Muslim devotees offered special prayers at Moques and homes and recited the Holy Quran seeking divine blessings from Allah.
On that night, a huge number of devotees visited graveyards and offered special dua and munajat seeking eternal peace for the departed souls of their near and dear ones.
Bangladesh Television, Bangladesh Betar and private TV channels and radio stations aired special programmes while newspapers published articles highlighting the significance of the night.
People also distributed money, food, and sweets among the poor and destitute.
The Islamic Foundation organized various programmes at the Baitul Mukarram National Mosque to observe the holy Shab-e-Barat.
The night-long observance included waz, prayer gatherings, Quran recitations, and Hamd Naat sessions. The program concluded with the fajr prayer, led by Hafez Maulana Mufti Muhibullahil Baki, the head Imam of Baitul Mukarram National Mosque.
