A murder case was filed against former ousted prime minister Sheikh Hasina and 1,505 others over killing a madrasa student in Savar during the July uprising.
The deceased was identified as Hasibur Rahman, 18, son of Delwar Hosain Dhali, hailed from Kalaipur village under Kalkini upazila in Madaripur district.
The victim’s uncle Fuad Hosain filed the case with Savar Model Police Station on Friday night (February 14).
According to the case statement, Hasibur was shot on August 5, 2024 during a victory procession heading to the police station after Sheikh Hasina fled to India. Later, locals rescued the victim and took to Enam Medical College Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries on August 7.
Including Sheikh Hasina, other notable accused are former home minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal, former IGP Abdullah Al Mamun, former DMP commissioner Habibur Rahman, DMP DB chief Harun-or-Rashid and former Dhaka ASP Abdullahil Kafi.
Savar Model Police Station officer-in-charge Juwel Miah confirmed matter on Saturday afternoon.
