Man killed in Faridpur road mishap

An elderly man was killed in a head-on collision between two trucks at Sadarpur upazila in Faridpur district on Saturday afternoon.

The accident occurred along the Goalanda-Tarail road adjacent to Majumder bazaar under Krishnapur union in the upazila.

The deceased was identified as Shamsel Biswas, 80, hailed from Moishadanga village under Magura Sadar upazila.

According to locals, the head-on collision occurred between the passenger Mahindra truck from Magura Sadar and bricks loaded truck from the opposite direction which left three individuals critically injured.

Later, locals rescued them and took to the Upazila Health Complex where the victim Shamsel succumbed to his injuries.

Sadarpur Police Station officer-in-charge Motaleb Hosain confirmed the incident and said that the body was handed over to the victim’s son Ulfat Biswas.
