Three people were killed in two separate road accidents in Dinajpur over the last 24 hours.
The deceased were identified as Saidul Islam, 36, son of Sharif Uddin, a resident of Sujapur village under Phulbari upazila in the district, and Nargis Begum, 40, wife of Shariful Islam of Hirarhat area under Sadar upazila and her two-month-old granddaughter Humaira.
In Phulbari upazila, Saidul was after being crushed under the wheels of a truck on Parbatipur-Phulbari road in the Bhabanipur Sherpur area on Saturday morning.
Parbatipur Model Police Station officer-in-charge Abdus Salam confirmed the matter.
In Kaharol Upazila, Nargis Begum, her two daughters- Lisa Akhter and Ripa Akhter-- and granddaughter Humaira, daughter of Ripa Akhter, were returning home from
Nargis and Humaira were killed when a passenger bus of Bahan Paribahan hit them while they were returning home Birganj upazila on an easy bike, leaving them critically injured on the spot, said Dinajpur Dosh Mile Highway Police Station officer-in-charge Mokhlesur Rahman.
Humaira and Nargis Begum succumbed to their injuries while undergoing treatment at Dinajpur General Hospital, the OC added.
