EBL offers payroll banking services to foreign service officers

To offer comprehensive banking service propositions for foreign service officers, Eastern Bank PLC (EBL) on Thursday signed a payroll banking agreement with the Bangladesh Foreign Service Association (BFSA).

Under this agreement, BFSA members will have access to EBL's exclusive payroll banking services, including dual-currency debit cards for seamless international transactions, customized loan facilities, and other value-added financial solutions.

Ali Reza Iftekhar, Managing Director and CEO of EBL, and Dr. Muhammad Nazrul Islam, President of BFSA signed the agreement on behalf of their respective sides at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Speaking on the occasion, President of BFSA Dr Nazrul Islam said this partnership between EBL and BFSA is special because the relationship between the two organizations dates back to 2018 with the launching of co-brand credit card.

With the signing of today's agreement for exclusive payroll banking services featuring diverse range of customized loan facilities, and an array of other value-added financial solutions, this relationship reaches a new height, he said.

"We are happy to be partnering with EBL, Bangladesh's first bank to be rated by international rating agency Moody's and has distinguished itself for its ethical banking and world class corporate governance," Dr Nazrul said.

Ali Reza Iftekhar, Managing Director and CEO of EBL said they are proud to collaborate with the Bangladesh Foreign Service Association in offering tailored payroll banking solutions.

"This partnership underscores our commitment to providing seamless and innovative financial services that cater to the unique needs of Bangladesh's esteemed foreign service professionals. BFSA senior officials, executive committee members; EBL DMD and Head of Retail and SME Banking M. Khorshed Anowar, Head of Business Syed Zulkar Nayen, Head of Communications and External Affairs Ziaul Karim, Head of Payroll Banking Trisha Taklim, were present, among others, on the occasion.
