Bangladesh Women Cricketers Association triumphs in Festival of Youth 2025

The two-day Festival of Youth 2025 cricket tournament organised by Bangladesh Mahila Krira Sangstha (BWSA) concluded at the Sultana Kamal Mahila Krira Complex in Dhanmondi on Friday, with Bangladesh Women Cricketers Association clinching the championship title.

The host organization Bangladesh Mahila Krira Sangstha finished as the runner-up.

The tournament held as part of the broader 'Festival of Youth 2025' celebrations saw the participation of 60 cricketers across four teams. The competition aimed to promote women's cricket and encourage greater female participation in sports.

The grand closing ceremony featured Secretary of the Ministry of Youth and Sports Md. Rezaul Maksud Zahedi as the chief guest, who distributed prizes among the winners.

Special guests included National Sports Council Secretary Md. Aminul Islam and Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) Director and Head of Women's Wing Md. Nazmul Abedin Fahim.

Acting President of BWSA Anjuman Ara Aksir, and Acting General Secretary Engineer Firoza Karim Nelli were also present at the occasion.

Earlier, the tournament was inaugurated on Thursday by BCB umpire Sathia Zakir Jessy and former national women's team cricketer Panna Ghosh.

The initiative was lauded as a crucial step toward the empowerment of women in cricket providing a competitive platform for aspiring female cricketers.
