Indian goods worth over Tk 2.5cr seized in B'baria

Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) seized various types of Indian smuggled goods worth Tk 2,5,69,170 from Bijoynagar upazila in Brahmanbaria district early Saturday.

A press release, issued from BGB-25, confirmed the matter.

According to the press release, a team of BGB-25, acting on a tip off, conducted a drive at Chandura Bypass area and seized the goods smuggled from India.

Sensing the presence of the BGB personnel, the smugglers fled the scene leaving behind the illegal the goods.

The seized contraband items include 50,759 cosmetics items and 9,813 yards of clothes.

The process of submitting the seized goods to the Akhaura Customs Office was underway, the release added.
