Former leader of Bangladesh Jatiotabadi Chatradal was shot to injured by miscreants at Raozan upazila in Chittagong district on Saturday morning.
The incident happened at around 11:00AM at North Gujra village under East Gujra union in the upazila.
The injured JCD leader is Payer Mohammad Chowdhury Babu, 38, son of Hafiz Mowlana Nur Mohammad, a resident of Khankahabad village in the upazila. He was the joint secretary of Raozan Upazila JCD unit.
Locals and police said that the construction work of the pond bank of Addhapith Ramkrishna Shangha is ongoing with government finance. Payer Mohammad Chowdhury is working as a subcontractor for this work. He went there to visit the work in the morning. At that time, a total of 15 to 20 people came riding three CNG with arms and shot to Payer indiscriminately. After that the terrorists left the place leaving his injured as he received several bullets in his body.
Locals rescued him and took him to the local upazila health complex, from where he was shifted to a private hospital in the upazila.
Morsheda Begum, the mother of the injured, said, " My son is innocent. Terrorists shot him without any reason. I want exemplary punishment those who are involved in this incident. "
