Bangabandhu Stadium renamed to National Stadium

The name of the Bangabandhu National Stadium has been renamed to the National Stadium. 

The National Sports Council (NSC), the governing body of the stadium located in Dhaka’s Paltan area, issued a directive regarding this matter on Saturday. 

The stadium was built in 1954, naming Dhaka Stadium.

But, Awami League government renamed the venue from Dhaka Stadium to Bongobondhu National Stadium. 

According to the NSC, the directive has been issued with the approval of the appropriate authorities and will be implemented immediately.
