ASI dies on-duty in Rajshahi

An on-duty assistant sub inspector (ASI) of Rajshahi's Mohanpur upazila died of cardiac arrest on Friday.

Akbar Ali, 49, son of late Jabed Ali, served as an ASI at Mohanpur Police Station, was hailed from Ghorapakhia village at Shibganj upazila under Chapainawabganj district.

Akbar complained of chest pain while discharging from duties, and rushed to Mohanpur Upazila Health Complex where the on-duty doctors pronounced him dead, confirmed police sources.

Mohanpur Police Station officer-in-charge Ataur Rahman confirmed the demise and said that the body was handed over to his family.
