Fire under control in Old Dhaka

The fire that broke out at a building in the Islambag area in the capital on Saturday afternoon has been brought under control.

Eight firefighting units from different Fire Service Stations brought the fire under control at around 4:27 pm.

According to fire service officials, the fire broke out at a residential building in Islambagh area at around 3:20 PM.

Confirming the matter, Anwarul Islam Dolan, the media cell officer of the fire service headquarters, said that the fire broke in a flat first and escalated into the adjacent areas immediately.

Immediately after being informed, a total of eight firefighting units rushed there and working to bring the blaze under control, he said.

No causalities have been reported and the origin of the fire is still yet to be known, added the fire service official.
