A Bangladeshi man killed in a road accident in Iraq’s Erbil city on Wednesday evening.

The deceased was identified as Md Mizanur Rahman, 40, son of Md Mossarraf Mridha, a resident of Karkhana village under Bauphal upazila in Patuakhali district.

He was a traveling paan vendor in this city.

The victim’s co-worker Shahin Mirdha said over the phone that a speedy vehicle rammed Mizan and sustained his injuries while he was selling paan and cigarette in the city.

Later, locals rescued him and took him to a nearby hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

Mizan’s relative Nazrul Islam confirmed the incident and said that the victim was heading to Iraq in 2012.

Bauphal Police Station officer-in-charge Kamal Hosain said that legal steps would be taken in this regard.
