Prof Mohammad Kamrul Ahsan, Vice-Chancellor of Jahangirnagar University (JU), planned to propose the idea of conducting undergraduate admission with a unique question for the 2025-2026 academic session of undergraduate (Honours) first-year admissions.
He made the remarks while briefing campus reporters at around 12:30 pm following a visit to the Social Sciences Faculty.
"If we receive consent and cooperation from other universities of similar stature, we could hold the entrance exam in Dhaka University, Rajshahi University and Chittagong University," said Prof Kamrul Ahsan, emphasizing the potential benefits of having a single, standardized question across all participating students, which could help maintain uniformity and fairness.
He hoped that this initiative could apply to the 2025-2026 academic session for the first-year Honours students.
"We will also assist other universities if they wish to conduct their entrance exams here. If we can ensure the security of the question papers and maintain proper conduct and quality of the exam, a common question paper can be used," he added.
Prof Ahsan further proposed that the entrance exams for all the universities be conducted using a single, unified question paper for the students.
