Ex-BCL leader killed in Gaibandha

A former local leader of outlawed Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) was killed in an alleged attack by miscreants at Sadullapur upazila in Gaibandha district on Thursday.

The deceased was identified as Abdullah Al Mamun Mondal, 35, son of Abdul Mannan Mondal, a resident of Khamarpara village under Dhaperhat union in the upazila.
He was a former president of the union BCL unit.

The incident occurred along the Dhaperhat Jamdani road in the afternoon.

According to locals, the miscreants suddenly attacked on the victim in the spot and he sustained critically injuries.

Later, the victim’s relatives rescued him and took him to Pirganj Upazila Health Complex where he succumbed to his injuries.

Sadullapur Police Station officer-in-charge Tajuddin Khondaker confirmed the incident and said that further legal steps would be taken upon investigation in this regard.
