The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) on Thursday announced Mehidy Hasan Miraz as the vice-captain of Bangladesh National Cricket team for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 set to be held in Pakistan and the UAE from February 19 to March 9.

Miraz, 27, already represented Green and Reds in 103 ODIs, brings leadership experience, having captained the side in the West Indies in the absence of regular skipper Najmul Hossain Shanto.

The apex body of country's cricket also confirmed that pace bowlers Hasan Mahmud and Khaled Ahmed will travel to Dubai on Saturday to train with the Bangladesh squad. However, they will return home following the team's opening match against India.
