A hanging body was found in a mosque at Companiganj upazila in Noakhali district on Thursday.
The incident occurred at Bepari bari mosque under Char kakra union's ward no. 1 in the upazila.
The deceased was identified as Abdur Rahim Biplob, 28, son of Fazlul Haque Chowdhuri and a resident of Char kakra union’s ward no. 1 in the upazila.
According to locals, Rahim went out from house at noon. At the time of Asr prayer, when imam got into the mosque, saw him hanging from the ceiling fan and informed police.
On information, police rushed to the spot and recovered the body.
Companiganj Police Station officer in-charge (OC) Gazi Mohammad Fouzul Azim confirmed the death and said that the body has been sent to Noakhali General Hospital morgue for an autopsy.
A general diary (GD) has been filled in this regard, added the OC.
