Fugitive accused held in N'ganj

NARAYANGANJ, Feb 13: Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested a man from the district on the charge of violating a 10-year-old girl in Amtali Upazila of Barguna on Wednesday.

The arrested man is Md Nurul Islam, 36, a resident of Amtali Upazila.

RAB confirmed the detention in a press briefing held at Patuakhali camp.

According to the case statement, accused Nurul is a three-wheeler driver by profession. The victim's father sent his daughter with Nurul's vehicle for home on January 15 last. On the way, he molested the child after taking her in a secluded place.

Later on, the victim disclosed the matter to her family members.

The family members then admitted the child to Amtali Upazila Health Complex.
