The university administration, however, suspended a female and a male students from the university for two years over making derogatory remarks on religion, Arif added.

On February 5, a group of students went to vandalise the mural of Sheikh Hasina and the boat symbol located at CU’s Sheikh Hasina Hallof the university.

Some female residential students of the hall prohibited the agitating students from vandalising the mural and the symbol. Later, they locked into an altercation over the issue.

Being informed, a team of CU proctorial body led by assistant proctor Korban Ali rushed to the spot and tried to bring the situation under control.

Afsana Enayet Emi, at one staged, assaulted Korban. A video clip of assaulting the assistant proctor went viral on social media on February 11.
