A total of eight people were arrested in the last 24 hours in Noakhali during the joint operation under Operation Devil Hunt.
The arrested include Hatia Municipality Awami League Organizing Secretary and former municipality councillor Nur Hadi, leaders and activists of the party's various levels, accused in murder cases during the anti-discrimination student movement, and listed terrorists.
On Thursday, Noakhali Additional Superintendent of Police Mohammad Ibrahim said that they were arrested in various police stations of the district during the drive. Out of these, three people were arrested from Sudharam Police Station, one from Hatia Police Station, one from Begumganj Police Station, two from Chatkhil Police Station and two from Char Jabbar Police Station.
The drive was conducted by a joint team of the Army, Navy, Coast Guard, Police and Naval Police. He said that the drive will continue with the aim of bringing the criminals under the law and restoring peace in the minds of the people.
