Trading at the Dhaka and Chattogram stock exchanges kicked off with an upward trend on Thursday, marking the final working day of the week, as share prices of most companies showed gains.
Within the first two hours of trading, the Dhaka Stock Exchange's benchmark index, DSEX, increased by 10 points. The Shariah-compliant DSES index gained 3 points, while the blue-chip DS30 index rose by 4 points.
At the start of trading, 177 companies saw their share prices increase, 133 experienced declines, and 79 remained unchanged.
During this period, over Tk 170 crore worth of shares and units were traded on the DSE.
Meanwhile, the overall index of the Chattogram Stock Exchange (CSE) rose by 28 points at the beginning of trading. Of the 110 companies traded on the CSE, 70 saw price increases, 22 experienced declines, and 18 remained unchanged. The total value of shares and units traded exceeded Tk 1.15 crore.
