A case has been filed over the burning of the house of Nuruzzaman Kafi, a content creator and leader of the July Movement.
Kafi himself filed the case against unknown individuals at around 11:30 pm on Wednesday (February 12).
Kafi mentioned in his case that the house was burned down in a planned manner because of his active participation in the July-August movement and in the demolition of Dhanmondi 32.
Kalapara Police Station Inspector (Investigation) Mostafizur Rahman said that a police investigation is underway into the burning of Kafir's house.
Earlier, on Tuesday night at around 2 am, miscreants set fire to Kafi's house by blocking the door, his father ABM Habibur Rahman alleged. However, before the fire spread to the entire house, six members of the family managed to break the door and escape unharmed. The fire caused damage worth around Tk 50 lakh, including cash and gold ornaments.
