Jamaat meets CEC

A six-member delegation of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami is holding meeting with Chief Election Commissioner AMM Nasir Uddin, in a decade amid its ongoing reform efforts and election preparations.

The meeting, led by the party's Secretary General Mia Golam Porwar, began at 10AM on Thursday at the EC headquarters in Agargaon in the capital.

Election Commissioners Md Anwarul Islam Sarkar, Abdur Rahmanel Masud, Tahmida Ahmed, Abul Fazal Md Sanaullah and EC Secretary Akhtar Ahmed are also at the meeting.
Before the meeting, Porwar said to media, "We are here to discuss our views with the chief election commissioner and other officials. We will share details with the media afterward."

Currently, the hearing on restoration of Jamaat's registration is being under process at the court.
