BCL leader held from BNP leader’s office

M Rasel, a local leader of banned Bangladesh Chhatra League, has been arrested from the office of a Bangladesh Nationalist Party’s Narayanganj City Corporation ward no-3 president Afzal Hossain.

Rasel, a member of the City Corporation’s ward no-3 BCL unit convening committee, was arrested from Siddhirganj upazila early Wednesday.

Siddhirganj Police Station officer-in-charge Wasim confirmed the matter and said that a team of police, acting on a tip off, conducted a drive in the area and arrested him from Afzal’s office.

He was shown arrested in a July Mass Uprising Case, the SI added.
