A woman has died while undergoing treatment at Mugda General Hospital in Dhaka after being beaten over allegations that her daughter had stolen money.

The victim, 55-year-old Ayesha Begum, was a street vendor who sold vegetables and women's clothing. After her husband died, she lived in a rented house in Mugda's South Manda area with her two daughters.

According to Sub-Inspector Md Kamruzzaman, Ayesha was assaulted at a house in Manik Nagar's Professor Alley on Monday. "She was later admitted to Mugda General Hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries on Tuesday." — bdnews24.com
