Woman killed in Madaripur train crash

A woman was killed after being hit by a speedy train at Madabrerchor area of Shibchar upazila in Madaripur on Wednesday evening.

The identity of the deceased aged about 30 could not be known immediately, police said.

According to locals, a Bhanga bound speedy train hit the woman while she was crossing the railway trail at around 7:00 PM, leaving her dead on the spot.

Being informed, a team of police rushed to the spot, said Shibchar Police Station officer-in-charge Raton Sheikh.

They informed the matter to railway police, the OC said, adding that railway police would look into the matter.
