Dear Sir,
Epilepsy is a serious neurological condition that affects millions of people around the world, yet it is often surrounded by misconceptions and stigma. Every year on February 12th, World Epilepsy Day is observed to raise awareness about the disease, educate the public, and provide much-needed support for those who are affected. Epilepsy is not a rare condition.
It affects individuals of all ages and backgrounds, and it can significantly impact daily life. Understanding its causes-ranging from genetic factors to brain injury or stroke-and the variety of symptoms is essential in eliminating the misunderstandings that many still hold about the disease. The focus on this day is not only to raise awareness but also to emphasize the importance of proper care and treatment. With the right support, individuals with epilepsy can manage their condition and lead normal, fulfilling lives.
Let us all work together to help reduce the stigma and support the well-being of those living with epilepsy by promoting compassion, understanding, and advocacy.
