This latest round of arrests brings the total number of people detained to 309, including those from both Gazipur city and the district. On the first, second, and third days of the operation, 80, 100, and 81 people were arrested, respectively.
Police reported that Tuesday night's arrests involved eight individuals from five police stations in Gazipur district and 40 from the metropolitan area. Deputy Commissioner of City Special Branch, Alamgir Hossain, stated that 40 people were arrested from various locations within the city overnight, bringing the total number of arrests in the city to 188 over the past four days.

Superintendent of Police Chowdhury Md. Jaber Sadeque confirmed the arrests in the district, with eight individuals detained on the fourth day. Legal proceedings against the arrestees are currently underway, according to the police superintendent.

The government launched the operation following an attack on activists of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement at the residence of former minister AKM Mozammel Haque in Dakshinkhan, which resulted in 18 injuries. In response, the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement and the Jatiya Nagarik Committee held protests demanding the arrest of those responsible for the attack.
