Some bones were found at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman's Dhanmondi-32 residence, Criminal Investigation Department (CID) confirmed this on Monday.
Earlier, a team of CID reached the site at 8AM with equipment to collect some evidences.
A team from Dhanmondi Police Station has been deployed to assist them.
Dhanmondi OC Ali Ahmed Masud said, "Some bones were found at the Dhanmondi 32. But it is yet to determine whether the bones are of human or some other animal, the CID's crime scene unit has come and collected evidence."
Earlier on Sunday, the Fire Service carried out water removal work in the basement of Dhanmondi 32 following suspicions about the presence of a secret detention cell.
A rumour circulating on social media on Thursday alleged the presence of an 'Ayna Ghor' near the demolished Dhanmondi-32 residence, claiming that human bones and hair were found there.
People visiting the site on Sunday said they found a piece of bone from the area.
