Jamaat announces candidates for five seats in Naogaon

Jamaat-e-Islami has revealed its candidates for five parliamentary seats in Naogaon, although the date for the next general election has not yet been set. 

The announcement was made by Khandaker Muhammad Abdur Rakib, the Ameer of Naogaon district Jamaat. 

Rakib confirmed that the decision to field candidates was made by the party's central leadership. The party's high command finalized candidates for five of the six parliamentary seats in Naogaon on Sunday, February 10.

Naogaon is divided into six parliamentary constituencies, comprising 11 upazilas. The candidates for the following seats have been confirmed by Jamaat-e-Islami:

Naogaon-1: This seat includes Niamatpur, Porsha, and Sapahar upazilas. Jamaat has nominated Professor Mahbubul Haque, a member of the central working committee, as the candidate for this constituency. He is the head of Al Hira Islamic Academy in Sapahar upazila.
  
Naogaon-2: Comprising the upazilas of Patnitola and Dhamairhat, Jamaat has selected Engineer Anamul Haque, the district's Nayeb-e-Amir, as the candidate. He hails from Chhatun Kudi village in Dhamairhat upazila.

Naogaon-4: This constituency covers the single upazila of Manda. Khandaker Muhammad Abdur Rakib, the district Jamaat Ameer, has been nominated for this seat. He resides in the village of Pashchim Nurullabad in Manda.

Naogaon-5 (Naogaon Sadar): For this seat, Advocate A S M Sayem, the district Jamaat Secretary, has been selected as the candidate.

Naogaon-6: The constituency includes the upazilas of Raninagar and Atrai. The party has nominated Mohammad Khabirul Islam, the Ameer of Atrai upazila Jamaat, for this seat.

However, the candidate for the Naogaon-3 constituency, which covers the upazilas of Badalgachhi and Mahadebpur, has not yet been announced. 

District Jamaat Ameer Khandaker Muhammad Abdur Rakib stated that the party's parliamentary nomination board has declared candidates for five of the six constituencies in Naogaon. He mentioned that the board has not yet finalized a candidate for Naogaon-3, but a decision will likely be made within the next couple of days after further consideration.
