At least six people were injured in a factional clash between two groups of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) over establishing supremacy at Fenis Daganbhuiyan upazila on Sunday.

The clash incident took place at Daganbhuiyan Bazar at noon.

Among the injured are the upazila JCD convener KM Saimon Haque Rajib, its member secretary Tawhidul Islam Manik and senior joint-convener Ashraful Haque.

According to locals, two groups arranged separate demonstration programmes in the area demanding the punishment of ousted Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

The two groupsone led by Feni district JCD vice-president Jamsedur Rahman and another led by the upazila JCD joint-convener Ashraful Haquelocked into an altercation over the programme.

They, at one point, swooped on each other with locally made sharp weapons, leaving six people of the both groups injured.

Other people rescued the injured from the spot and took them to nearby hospital for treatment.

Being informed, a joint team of forces rushed to the spot and dispersed the JCD men, said Daganbhuiyan Police Station officer-in-charge Md. Hasan Imam.
