7 held in Noakhali 'Operation Devil Hunt'

The joint forces arrested seven leaders and activists of Awami League as part of the nationwide 'Operation Devil Hunt' from Noakhali's Hatia upazila on Saturday night.

The forces arrested them from different places in the upazila.

The arrested are Chorishwar Union Parishad former chairman Alaudin Azad, Saddam Hossain, Abul Kalam Bitu, Azim Uddin, Sirajul Islam Prokash Raksan, Abdul Mazid Polash and Abdul Jaher. All are the residents of different villages in the upazila.
Confirming the matter, Hatia Police Station officer-in-charge AKM Azmal Huda said that Naval Police, Coast Guard and other law enforcement agencies jointly conducted the Operation Devil Hunt whole night on Saturday.

The forces arrested the seven persons during the drive.

They also recovered a sharp knife, a sharp axe, two sharp knives with handles and three long swords from the drives.

Mentioned, the government launched the nationwide operation following a violent attack on students and locals in Gazipur district on Friday night.
