The two-day "A F Mujibur Rahman Foundation-Bangladesh Mathematical Society 3rd National Mathematics Conference 2024" and Gold Medal Award Giving Ceremony organized by the Department of Mathematics, Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) was held on 06 and 07 February 2025.
BUET pro-vice-chancellor professor Abdul Hasib Chowdhury was present as chief guest, said a press release.
BUET science faculty dean professor Al-Naqeeb Chowdhury, Bangladesh Mathematics Association president and Pirojpur University of Science and Technology vice-chancellor professor Md Shahidul Islam and AF Mujibur Rahman Foundation trustee M Nurul Alam were present as special guests.
The programme was presided over by the head of BUET mathematics department professor Najma Parveen.
UGC Honorary Member Professor Dr. Md. Saidur Rahman was present as the chief guest at the closing ceremony (February 7). Professor Dr. Md. Shahidul Islam, President, Bangladesh Mathematics Association and Vice Chancellor, Pirojpur University of Science and Technology, was present as a special guest at the event.
This year, two MSc students � Chaiti Biswas and SM Yasir Arafat and two MPhil students � Hamida Akhtar and Tariqul Islam of mathematics department were awarded gold medals, funded by the AF Mujibur Rahman Foundation. The conference was presided over by Professor Dr. Nazma Parveen, Head of the Department of Mathematics. In addition, the conference secretary, Professor Dr. Mohammad Farhad Uddin, Department of Mathematics, BUET, expressed gratitude to all present. He thanked the members of the organizing committee and the advertisers.
