Awami League leader arrested in Lakshmipur murder case

Members of Lakshmipur Detective Branch (DB) arrested an Awami League leader in connection with the attack on the anti-discrimination movement in the district and the murder of students.

The arrested was Nurul Karim, former president of Char Lawrence Union Awami League in Kamalnagar Upazila.
He was arrested from his house in Char Lawrence village of Kamalnagar on Saturday (February 8) night. In the incident, 10-15 local people took out a joyous procession and distributed sweets in Torabganj area of Kamalnagar Upazila on Sunday afternoon.

Lakshmipur District Detective Branch (DB) OC Shahadat Hossain Tito said Karim was arrested in a case related to the murder of four students of the anti-discrimination movement. He was later handed over to Sadar Model Police Station.
