2 held with foreign pistol, cartridges in city

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) on Saturday arrested two persons along with foreign pistol and cartridges from Ibrahimpur road of Kafrul Thana in Dhaka.

The arrested are Mohammad Rashedul Alam Jumma, 45, and Ashraf Ali, 49.

Confirming the matter to media, DMP deputy commissioner for media and public relations Muhammad Talebur Rahman said that a team of police, acting on a tip off, conducted a drive in the area and arrested the duo.

Police also recovered a 9mm pistol made in Brazil and two rounds of bullets from their possessions.

A case was lodged with Kafrul Thana in this connection, Talebur added.
