A school girl died after her scarf stucked with a battery-run auto-rickshaw at Kalapara upazila in Patuakhali on Saturday.
The deceased was identified as Radia Islam Priya, 15, daughter of Palash Hawlader, a resident of Badurtali area in the upazila.
The accident took place around 7:00PM at college road area in the upazila.
According to family members, the victim was heading home from a coaching centre by the auto-rickshaw. She became severely injured while her scarf stucked with the motor of the vehicle, leaving her injured critically.
Later, the victim�s classmates rescued her and took to Kalapara Upazila Health Complex where she succumbed to her injuries.
Kalapara Police Station officer-in-charge Jowel Islam confirmed the incident and said that further legal steps will be taken upon receiving a compliant.
