BCL leader held in Habiganj

Police arrested a local leader of banned organization Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) from Ajmiriganj upazila in Habiganj district on Friday night.

The arrested man is Mehedi Hasan Ishan, 34, son of former chairman of Ajmiriganj upazila and co-organising secretary of the Habiganj district BCL unit.
He was arrested at around 9pm from a restaurant near the post office in Ajmiriganj municipality.

He is an accused in a case filed by the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement in Habiganj.

ABM Maidul Hasan, officer-in-charge of Ajmiriganj Police Station, confirmed the matter.
