One more dies of dengue

One more died from dengue while eight more patients were hospitalised with viral in 24 hours till Saturday morning, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

The number of fatalities from the mosquito-borne disease in Bangladesh now rose to 11 this year.

Among the new patients, three were admitted to hospital under Dhaka North City Corporation while three were hospitalized in Dhaka South City Corporation.

Some 89 patients are receiving treatment in different hospitals across the country.

Last year, dengue claimed the lives of 575 people while 1,705 lives, making it the deadliest year on record, in 2023.
