20 injured in two JCD factions' clash in Patuakhali

At least 20 individuals were injured in a clash between two groups of Bangladesh Jatiotabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) at Bauphal upazila in patuakhali district Thursday night.

The incident took place at Banglabazar intersection of the municipality at around 8:00 PM.

According to witnesses, a clash ensued between two JCD factions, led by Abdullah Al Fahad and Saiful Islam over labeling posters in the municipality area.  When Abdullah along with 20-25 activists came at Bangabazar intersection for labeling poster,  30-35 men of another group attacked them with lethal weapons. Following this, a clash broke out between the groups, leaving at least 20 injured from both groups.

Locals rescued the injured and took them to Upazila Health Complex.

Bauphal Police Station officer-in-charge (OC) Kamal Hossain confirmed the incident, adding that if any complaints filed in this regard, legal action would be taken.
