3 JUST teachers, official suspended

Three teachers of different departments and an official of Jashore University of Science and Technology (JUST) have been suspended temporarily for their alleged involvement in corruption on Friday.

The decision was made at a meeting held at the university with vice-chancellor Professor Dr. Md. Abdul Mazid in the chair.

Separate press releases, signed by JUST registrar engineer Ahsan Habib, were issued in this regard on Friday.

The suspended teachers are Microbiology department Professor Dr. Iqbal Kabir Zahid, Computer Science and Engineering department chairman Professor Dr. Syed M Ghalib and Dr. MA Wazed Mia. They are the leaders of JUST Awami League alliance Neel Dal.

The suspended official is Helalul Islam, Research Officer of Higher Education and Research Institute of the university.

The university vice-chancellor Professor Dr. Md. Abdul Mazid issued the suspension orders as per the university act against the teachers and official for their alleged involvement in corruption.
